Types of Astrology- A Reason for Confusion
There are several forms of astrology and that leads to some confusion. The information we read in the daily newspaper is too generic to really be of any value.

The most recognized forms of astology are Vedic astrology, Western astrology, and Chinese Astrology. Most of us associate astrology to our sun signs.

Vedic Astrology is a study of the movements of planets and constellations together with their effect on our life. There are 12 zodiac signs. Experienced practitioners analyze different facets and the influences of planets drawn on the astrological chart. They use these calculations to make their predictions.

Western astrology shares some basic features with Vedic Astrology including the concept of the planets, signs, houses and general interpretations. The only difference is their measurement of the zodiac. Vedic astrology considers sidereal zodiac as its base in measuring the motion of the planets, while considering the position of the stars stationary. Western astrology measures the motion of the planets against the fixed background of the sun on the spring equinox. Of course practitioners of both forms of Astrology claim their approach accurate.

Mastering all of the aspects of astrology can take decades of dedicated study. Thus, predictions in the newspapers based on little study can often be very inaccurate. Astrology is a science that needs learned interpreters who have dedicated years of study to get accurate readings.

Chinese Astrology

Astrology dates back as far as recorded history. It is based on the interaction between the planets and different zodiac signs. Dragons
Dragons are powerful, sometimes even overpowering and they bully those who disagree with them. Because of their overpowering nature they can easily persuade others to live by their standards.

Snake
Snakes are seen as mysterious and also have an ability to fascinate the opposite sex. They tend to be too possessive about their love. They are supersites. They seem to always have enough money.

Horse
They enjoy leading the adventurous live. This love of adventure tends to make them avoid long term love affairs. As with the tiger they love to be the center of attraction.

Sheep
Being kind hearted they often seem emotionally weak and always sympathize with others

Monkey
Clever resourceful and intuitive they are great problem solvers. They are hard working and motivate others by example.

Rooster

The dog is extremely loyal to friends. They like to live in a loving and friendly surrounding.

Pig
Pigs are extremely caring for those who love them. They have a great circle of friends and are very social. They quickly recognize and seize opportunities.

These descriptions, like the brief descriptions you may find in your daily newspaper are the oversimplified and generalized characteristics of the persons with each of these signs.
